Podcasts have literally become one of my primary education channels. I started the We Are Better Men Podcast in 2016 and we’re into the thousands of downloads monthly. The podcast mostly focuses on men’s mental health and positive support, but occasionally we do talk about entrepreneurship and how to push yourself to do more. However, I’ve been rapidly checking out different podcasts, subscribing to them, unsubscribing, listening, hating, loving, etc… for the past year and I’ve compiled a list of MUST SUBSCRIBE if you are interested at all in educating yourself on digital marketing, entrepreneurship or business.
- Mixergy
Mixergy is a podcast by Andrew Warner and he has been interviewing entrepreneurs and business-people for years now. This guy has truly mastered the art of interviewing business people and getting to the deep rooted motives for wanting to make money. Mark my words, you will not hear a better podcast on business than this one. - The Gary Vee Audio Experience
Gary Vaynerchuk is one of those guys people love to hate. He’s a self made millionaire with some real depth and tactical experience. He boldly makes broad statements that regularly annoy people, but he isn’t just one of those guys who talks, he walked the walk. If you are interested in finding out why I started re-listening to his audio read my article My Perception of Gary Vee Changed for Two Reasons. He interviews up and coming entrepreneurs, talks about his business, and is a motivational speaker. - Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do
This is a podcast by Thom Singer. Thom has described himself as a “square”, but he is far from it in my opinion. He’s a professional speaker and like Andrew Warner interviews entrepreneurs and like-minded people about their stories and what interests them about business. I find he differs from a lot of these type of shows by actually caring about things like changing the world in positive ways, and he often speaks about that subject with his guests. - Side Hustle School
This podcast by Chris Guillebeau is short form, and quickly talks through people’s side hustles who became serious revenue generators. If you are someone who has a full time gig but is always thinking about, or someone who has created a side business this one is for you. - MozPOD
MozPod is a podcast by MOD, and mostly is about SEO and how to attract customers to your business digitally. It’s a great listen, and as Moz has become one of the top sources for SEO information, they are providing the same value on their podcast. - The Agents of Change
Rich Brooks hosts his Agents of Change podcast sponsored by his business New Flight Media and his annual conferences. He interviews Digital Saavy entreprenuers and gurus about how to market your business online regularly. It’s a great listen. - How I Built It
How I built it is a podcast by Joe Casabona (a web developer, educator and entrepreneur). This podcast primarily seems to discuss wordpress related development, and often gets into very technical discussion, but its worth the listen if you are running your business’ website on the wordpress platform. - Marketing School
Marketing School is by Neil Patel and Eric Siu. It is quite obvious that these guys get together once every few months and hammer out a ton of 5 minute podcast episodes and then release them over time. But both of them have built up successful businesses online and are worth listening to. I find some of their information is too high level, but for the most part there is a lot to take from it. - Exposure Ninja
This podcast is by an agency somewhere in the UK I believe and they talk about very technical and tactical ways to increase your online revenue. It’s one of my personal favourites because there has not been a single episode that I haven’t learned about a technique I have not tried, or maybe that I could try differently. - This Week in Google
Leo Laporte, Jeff Jarvis, Stacey Higginbotham, and their guests talk about the latest Google and cloud computing news (that is right from their description). I primarily listen to this podcast because it provides essential information for anyone working in digital. - The Goal Digger Podcast
Jenna Kutcher’s podcast is targeted at women in business or women who are entrepreneurs, but I find that sometimes it’s still worth a listen. And if you are a woman you should definitely be listening to it. She’s brilliant though, and I recently got some great insights into Pinterest marketing from her show.
Lastly, I have to bring up my podcast with friend Jordan (Owner of LM Technologies) We have been geeky entreprenuers and friends since highschool and have always referred to our business endeavors as “webpunx”, so it was natural 20 years later that we’d call our podcast that. We get together every couple months and talk shop. Lots of humour, lots of fun, and a lot of tech-business talk.
