Well, guest blogging works better in the B2B niche versus the B2C. If you are in the B2C niche you shouldn’t guest blog unless it is on popular blogs.
If you also have the time to blog 3 to 5 times a week, you should blog on your own blog. On the flip side, if you only have time to blog once a week, you shouldn’t even create a blog. You should guest blog.
Now if you want to guest blog you shouldn’t just contact the editor of these sites and ask them if you can write for them. They will just ignore you.
Instead, network with other contributors and writers. Email them, give them feedback, and even advice on new topics they can blog on.
Once you build a relationship with these writers, you can then ask them an introduction to their editor. The reason you want to do it this way is that the editor is much more likely to respond to an introduction from a writer who already blogs on their site, versus a random inquiry.
Now that you know how to get featured on popular blogs, keep in mind that one post won’t really help you. You will have to blog weekly for 6 to 12 months to see results from this.
