Finding broken links is part of maintaining any website. It’s a good practice to get into as it helps with SEO as well as the user experience. Today, I’ll show you how to use the Broken Link Checker plugin for WordPress.

Broken Link Checker is a simple plugin that can help you keep an eye on internal and external links. It also can help you keep an eye on images in your posts. It’s a bad day, indeed, when an image is no longer available when people are reading your content.

In this video, I show you how to set up the Broken Link Checker plugin as well as how to use it to fix links live from one of my own websites. I’ll go over how it can give false positives for 403 Forbidden errors, how to adjust for those, and easy ways to unlink or change the URLs without actually going into your posts.

I rather like Broken Link Checker as it saves time from using an external link-checking service. Not only that, but the plugin is free to use and works with WordPress 5.9 without issues.

However, there are plenty of link-checking plugins available in WordPress. If this is an ability that interests you, find the best plugin that works for your specific needs.
