What is Plugin in WordPress?
A WordPress plugin is a piece of software that “plugs into” your WordPress site. This small application helps us to extend the features and functions of a WordPress website. WordPress plugins are made up of PHP code and can include other assets such as images, CSS, and JavaScript. But don’t worry if you don’t know how to make a plugin. There are plenty of plugins to use from the WordPress repository and also from third parties to extend the feature and functionality of your website.
How to install WordPress Plugins and use them?
Let’s have a look at how we can install WordPress plugins. There are several ways we can do that. We can install from the default WordPress repository or from sites like ThemeForest and Theme Rally, BdThemes. If you are installing the plugin from a repository, it could be an automatic one-click installation. But keep in mind that, free plugins don’t offer all the leverage to develop a great website. For paid plugins, we have to purchase from the third-party website and then upload the plugin into the WordPress dashboard of your website.
Okay, let’s install a plugin in both ways.
Check the video for installing a plugin.
How to uninstall and remove a plugin?
Pretty simple. Check the video.
Deactivation isn’t permanent removal. If you plan to use the plugin again in the future. Keep it deactivated. But if you are sure you are not going to use it and also want to save space on your hosting, just remove it by deleting it.
What are Plugin Settings and How to customize/use a plugin?
Some plugins have separate plugin settings pages and some only offer settings under the settings and/or tools menu.
