Surfer SEO Case Study Kickoff (+Interview with Surfer co-founder)

Search Engine Optimization Tips

This is the first video in a playlist/series talking about trying out the Surfer tool for the first time (catch all the rest of the videos as they come out here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIQHg5Gp8_mARzwgVaNL5tWuBBVlsaEWJ

You can find out more about Surfer here: https://surferseo.com/
Or check out their youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmW0I6tx3Co4B6T2euHj6iw

Lots of people are talking about Surfer these days in the world of building/buying/flipping content websites monetized with ads and affiliate content. I’ve seen reviews of the tool by respected channels like Authority Hacker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPgWgXSejiY

I was ready to test it out. But right as I got ready to do so, Michal Suski reached out to me about trying it out. (Great timing!!)

I had planned to spend the month of April working on some content that just never performed well (or at all) that I had previously uploaded about 12 months ago. I figure by now, if it was going to fly, it would have flown already.

I’m not an SEO. I don’t have an agency, I’ve never used an agency. And in fact….I generally avoid the technical aspects of SEO.

That hasn’t prevented me from building up sites or earning ad revenue. The articles that we are working on in this series are live on a case study website that I started in April of 2019. If you want to learn more about that case study, and see how it progressed, you can see that whole playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIQHg5Gp8_mBJKJy6Rcgx-mREvmrCsVm9

This month, we are planning on taking 10 URLs and putting them through the wringer, to see what it is that Surfer can do to help these articles (which were an investment in time and/or money) to be productive.
