How to blend colours in Photoshop using the hard round brush. Quick and easy beginner tutorial.If you are new to digital painting there’s a good chance you have been using the soft edge brush ( airbrush) for blending and have probably heard people saying you should learn to use the hard edge brush for blending in your paintings. When I first started I heard this a lot so I decided I would make this super simple tutorial to demonstrate, there really is no secret to it unfortunately.

I use a graphics tablet with pen pressure so I will be showing you using pen pressure to control opacity and give a smooth transition / gradient in your blending technique. I also try to quickly show you how you can still achieve blending with a hard round brush when using a mouse to paint, or any other device that does not have pen pressure settings.

I am using Photoshop CS6 in the video and working on a Wacom Cintiq 13 HD.
