About this video:
This video covers the Yoast SEO meta box. This is the box you find on the pages and posts editor screens. The video discusses the three sections of the meta box in detail: the Content optimization tab, the Social tab, and the Advanced tab.
Content optimization tab:
If you use the block editor, you’ll find the Content optimization tab in the sidebar on the right. On this tab, you’ll find the content analyses: the SEO analysis and the readability analysis. The SEO analysis gives you real-time feedback on the SEO of your content. The SEO analysis consists of a lot of different aspects. Examples include the snippet preview, the focus keyphrase, and the cornerstone content checkbox. The readability analysis gives you feedback on how readable your post is for a general audience. This feedback is also real-time, so you’ll receive feedback while writing. For example, this analysis checks whether you use enough transition words, what your Flesch Reading Ease score is, and whether your paragraphs and sentences are not too long.
Social tab:
The second tab of the meta box is called the Social tab. On this tab, you can manage what your post will look like when you share it on social media. You can manually modify the image, title, and description that will be shown on Facebook and Twitter. If you have Yoast SEO Premium, it’ll also show you your modifications in a preview, so you can check what your post will look like on these social media.
Advanced tab:
The last tab we’ll discuss is the Advanced tab. This tab has powerful functionalities, so you have to make sure you know what you’re doing. On the Advanced tab, you can manage whether or not search engines will add your post to their index or not, and thus whether or not your post or page can be found in the search engines.
