How to Find Competitive Keywords for SEO Writing
Search Engine Optimization Tips
In this segment, David Clemen, VP of Digital Marketing at LSC Digital, talks about some tools to learn more about keyword competition. Remember, your “winning” keyword is the less competitive keyword. First, Google Trends provides users with a chart to see how much buzz a word has online. It uses a scale from 0-100 to see how popular a search term was over a span of time. This does NOT mean search volume, though volume is a factor. While there’s a keyword planner tool in Google Ads, the Google Trends tool is free for anyone and does not require access to another account.
Next, Moz has a number of helpful SEO tools including the keyword explorer tool. In this tool, you can see keyword recommendations, a keyword analysis of your website and more. However, this is a pay-to-use tool.
All of these tools along with Google and Answer the Public can help conduct your keyword research. This is a wash-rinse-repeat process, so be patient and take your time. They right keywords are worth waiting for!
